One Less Excuse For Not Having A Ridgeway Portrait
May 6, 2013 | By: Cheryl Ridgeway
Here's one less excuse for putting off your family portrait session at Ridgeway Portrait Design. It's called CoolSculpting! We all want to loose a few pounds and wish there was a faster way to do it. Well, there seems to be another way to fight a little flab and we found out about this last Friday, when the 'Where's Louie' entourage were visiting Ooh La La Wellness Centerin Glen Carbon, IL.
Let me back up a little. For those who don't know, every Friday our dog, Louie, visits an area business or landmark and our Ridgeway facebook fans (detectives) have to tell us where he is for a prize. This past Friday Louie visited Ooh La La Wellness Center in Glen Carbon, IL, and found out first hand about a 'cool' new technology to sculpt those lumps and bumps that just don't want to go away. It's called CoolSculpting.
So how does CoolSculpting work?
Many of us have little bulges of stubborn fat that we just can't get rid of - MUFFIN TOP - those unwanted bulges contain fat cells, which can be resistant to diet and exercise.
CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to target and crystallize fat cells. Those crystallized fat cells gradually die off, then are naturally eliminated from your body. In the weeks and months following treatment, remaining fat cells condense, reducing the fat layer.
That's it! Easy, right? I personally, have not done the Coolsculpting because, frankly, I just learned about it and having Louie visit there and try it out helped me understand what it is all about. I will tell you that I trust Dr. Kristen Jacobs 100%. She is my general family doctor and I have had a few different treatments. I've had the laser treatments, which is the treatment for pigmentation, skin redness, tiny veins, brown spots and sun damage, botox, chemical peels and Latise.
Trying one or two of these treatments will make you feel so much more confident in your appearance. I know I did. I loved the sun back in my teen years and early twenties, but back then I thought I don't really have to worry about that. I use to come home from classes, set myself up on the deck with my tv and watch soap operas. Every half hour I would turn over (like a rotisserie). Oh, how I miss those days. Not the sun bathing; the 2-3 hours of laying there. Yes, I should have worried about the aging process. Age has a way of creeping up on you sooner than you think.
I am in the business of making people look and feel beautiful through portraiture. We are proud to be able to photograph families and preserve that moment in time that you can't get back. We have learned that people are so self-conscience of themselves that they would rather not have photographs taken than to hold on to a memory of when their children were small. To me this is silly. The people that really count in your life are those you love and cherish. They see and love you no matter what. They are not going to look at a portrait and point out your flaws. No, they really aren't; they don't see those flaws when they look at you. They only see the person that has loved them and has taken care of them from day one. If you are one of these people then really take a look at why you don't want portraits. Your kids will want them someday, just as you want photographs of your parents.
I will be trying the Coolsculpting before summer. I have a few places that could benefit from a little bump-eviction.
Give the girls a call at Ooh La La Wellness Center to find out more about this and their other services. Not only are they super nice; they are super knowledgeable and the salon is beautiful. The phone number is 618-288-9117.
